International assessment for schools IAS 2008

Examination details 2008

IAS is a global competition which helps students

to assess their standards at an

international level. Certificates and medals are awarded

to regional toppers, country

toppers and participants, from Educational

Assessment Australia, of the

University of New South Wales, Australia, (EAA-UNSW)

200,401 students of grades 3 to 12 from 2650 schools

had taken 345,490 tests in English, Science, Mathematics & Computer Skills in 2008

IAIS/IAS. Of these participants only 282 students have been awarded

medals for scoring the highest marks

in their countries in IAS. Only 127 students have

been awarded UNSW Gold Medals for scoring the highest marks

out of all participating students in

the region in each subject, at each class level.

Students from schools in India, Bangladesh,

Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan,

Mauritius, Maldives, UAE, Oman, Kuwait,

Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq took

part in 2008 IAIS/IAS

Achievements in IAS 2008

Abdulla Hamad Yassin, student of Everyone’s Learning Center

earned a UNSW gold medal

for scoring the highest mark among 11,417 participants

who attempted the IAS 2008 Gr 4 English Test .

Everyone’s Learning Center has the

distinction of being one of the 70 educational institutes

in the region which has a UNSW Gold Medal Winner

Students who have been awarded medal(s) by Educational Assessment Australia,

of the University

of New South Wales, Australia, (EAA-UNSW) for securing the highest grade across

Rep. of Maldives in 2008 IAS in the respective categories,
